Bolonga Book Fair Entry 2014(Hopefully!!)

So I Chose the poem "The Death and Burial Of Cock Robin" to illustrate .

Its a great poem to use as it is very visually descriptive . For the book fair you have to Illustrate 5 images from your chosen text  here are mine.

I decided to go for black and white design as the poem was originally written in 1865

so i tried match the images with the mood of the poem  .

"Who Killed Cock Robin ?

I, said the sparrow with my bow and arrow,

I killed Cock Robin ."

"Who saw him die?

I,said the Fly,

with my little eye,

I saw him die."

"Who'll dig his grave ?

I, said the Owl ,

with my pick and shovel,

I'll dig his grave ."

"Who'll carry the coffin ?

I, said the Kite ,

If it's not through the night,

I'll carry the coffin ."

Sketch Book Work

           Just some of my sketch book pages I've mashed together 

just to show the different stages  I have gone through to create the previous final images .

            With these Characters I aged them  in different 

stages of the growing old process.

         Drooping the eyes and eye lids and the  muscles around the mouth loosing elasticity

was good fun to create.

Kids Tv Grown Up

These are 3 of my Final Pieces for one of many of my college Projects.

I chose to do 3 illustrations for Imagefx competition , The Competition was "Kids Tv Grown Up " you could take any character from tv and age him /her how you wish .

With this project I wanted to try and avoid it looking like fan art so aged them in my own way .

I had initially created the pieces in Colour ,using gouche , Fine Liner and pro marker in some parts.But after seeing how much people liked my original pencil sketches I decided to go back and do them in Black and white and submit all .
